Green the North

This is a project that focuses on restoration, afforestation and reforestation of degraded ecosystem within the dry land of North Eastern Kenya.

Seedlings of various species are produced and donated to social institutions such as schools, market and others in effort to promote and inculcate conservation culture.

Northern kenya has been colonized by an invasive plant species called prosopis juliflora which was introduced in the country to curb desertification and restore arid and semi arid land but turned to be hazardous by creating monoculture causing biological pollution. Through the project the organization has been able to eliminate the said species from community land and restore it with beneficial species. This has given the indigenous community hope to eradicate the invasive plant species from their land and and turn to agroforestry.
