SCHOOL GREEN PROGRAM
Global Nature Conservation raises seedlings consisting of indigenous, exotics and fruit trees. The seedlings are donated to schools and other social institutions in an effort to inculcate tree growing culture among young generation. It aims at mitigating the negative impact of climate change in northern Kenya through afforestation of degraded ecosystem. Trees are also donated to farmers. Global Nature Conservation have two big tree nurseries in Garissa county. One is located in Boni forest and the other one in Masalani town. The nurseries has got tree seedlings amounting to 70,000. Through this project we work with 100 schools in the entire county. We also work with 12000 school children and this is to promote environmental enthusiast children who are responsible about their environment.
